Overview
Maeven had 40K TikTok followers and a waitlist for every drop — but no brand. The packaging was generic kraft boxes with printed labels. The Etsy listing photos were iPhone shots on a kitchen counter. The name was strong and the product was real, but nothing about the visual identity communicated the level of quality the founder was actually delivering.
To move from drops to a subscription model and get into boutique retail, every touchpoint needed to feel considered. Not just "good enough for Etsy" — but coherent, elevated, and worth the price premium.
Approach
The strategy: build a brand that gets out of the product's way. Maeven's strength isn't novelty — it's quality. The photography and identity system should communicate that restraint, not compete with it.
We anchored the identity in the founder's background as an interior designer: the brand should feel like it belongs in a beautifully curated space, not on a shelf next to mass-market candles. Quiet luxury, not loud branding.

Outcome
This concept shows how a product-led DTC brand can build the visual infrastructure to scale from social-first drops to a subscription model and wholesale — without losing the intimacy that built the audience.
The Maeven brand system gives a founder with great product and real audience trust the visual credibility to compete with established players — while staying true to the handmade, personal quality that made people care in the first place.
